Faisal Islamic Bank of Egypt (FAIT) was founded in 1977 and began operations in July 1979, making it the first Egyptian Islamic and commercial bank. The bank was established by Saudi Prince Mohammed al-Faisal as part of his Islamic banking empire. Abd Elhamid Mohamed Abu Musa currently serves as Governor of the Shariah-compliant financial institution, leading its operations across Egypt’s banking sector.
