Housing & Development Bank (HDBK.CA) was founded in Cairo on June 30, 1979, originally as a state-owned enterprise focused on addressing Egypt’s housing shortage. In 2024, HDB recorded a 90% year-on-year increase in net profit, reflecting exceptional financial performance, while Forbes recently included the bank among Egypt’s Top 50 Listed Companies for 2025. The bank is currently led by CEO Hassan Ghanem, who officially began exercising his position as CEO in December 2019. The bank trades on the Egyptian Stock Exchange (EGX) with the Reuters code HDBK.CA.
